Derek joined the Gifford Pinchot Task Force in 2008 with the goals of raising the public profile and increasing the membership of the Task Force. His primary objectives in pursuit of these goals are sustaining a vital Membership Outreach Team and relentlessly telling the Task Force’s important stories to anyone who will listen. To help him accomplish these goals he brings 12 years experience in marketing and fundraising, including founding the highly successful Donor Recruitment Team for the Portland, Oregon based global humanitarian aid organization Mercy Corps.
