Mount Adams conference coming this Autumn

The Gifford Pinchot Task Force is excited to be partnering with Friends of Mount Adams to present the first annual conference on Mount Adams to be held on November 11, 2011 in Trout Lake, WA.. Task Force board member Dr. Robert Scheller will be speaking at the conference on “Management Options for Minimizing Wildfire Risk and Maximizing Carbon Storage in Western Forests under Future Climate Changes”. Wild & Scenic Film Festival

Join Willamette Riverkeeper, and our friends at Patagonia and REI, for the Wild & Scenic Film Festival!
Make no mistake; the Wild & Scenic Film Fest is a call to action. Considered the largest film festival of its kind, this year’s films combine stellar filmmaking and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities, while creating a positive future for the next generation. Filmgoers may find themselves transformed into a congregation of committed activists, dedicated to saving our increasingly threatened planet.
Enjoy 9 award-winning environmental and adventure films that illustrate the Earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet, and the work communities are doing to protect the environment, PLUS a premier of Willamette Riverkeeper’s latest film produced by local filmmaker Tom Frisch (2 hours of films, plus a short intermission).
Tickets: $5 for students/youth (under 17), $8 for adults
