Hemlock Dam Removal

Ten years of Task Force coalition advocacy led to the removal of Hemlock Dam. Amazingly, steelhead returned to the creek the day after water was returned to the stream channel - the webcam site linked below also hosts the video taken of the returning steelhead. Restoration will continue at the site over the next few seasons.

The Forest Service has created a website to document the Hemlock Dam removal and Trout Creek restoration project.  Click here to see the site.

These photos show the Hemlock Dam removal process from early construction work to fish collection, sediment removal, and photos of the restored creek. Keep checking back for more photos as it is planted and recovers over the next few seasons as well.
